March 24, 2011- A driver in Otay Mesa, south of San Diego, lost control of a vehicle during an apparent heart attack. Two pedestrians were struck by the vehicle and briefly trapped. According to Cal Fire Battalion Chief Nick Schuler the pedestrians suffered only minor to moderate injuries. One of them was taken to a hospital.
CPR was started on the driver at the scene of the accident. The motorist died a short time later on the way to a hospital.
