Cyclist Injured in a Hit-and-Run Accident in Green Meadows

A female cyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident in Green Meadows Sunday night.

The accident occurred around 11 p.m. in the 8700 block of South Central Avenue.

According to reports, the victim was riding a three-wheel bicycle. She had dropped a personal item on the ground and bent down to pick it up when the vehicle struck her head-on.

She sustained multiple, serious injuries, and was transported to a local hospital.

Investigators have not released a description of the suspect or the vehicle involved.

Witnesses recalled few other cars swerving to avoid the victim prior to the accident.
